C’est quoi être un puissant, aujourd’hui ?
J’écris au masculin cet article mais bien sûr, le mot “puissant” peut et doit être compris également au féminin , “puissante”.
Ce matin, en buvant mn café, je lisais un article sur le somment de Davos dans le figaro : lien
Et un mot m’a fait réfléchir (oui, oui même en buvant mon café, je laisse mes facultés cérébrales fonctionner 🙂 ). Je recopie l’introduction de cet article et met en gras le mot qui m’a interpellé :
“Débats sur les «polycrises» qui menacent la planète, rendez-vous d’affaires et diplomatiques discrets, plongée dans la station suisse et son forum annuel des puissants de ce monde.”
C’est donc le mot “puissant”.
Qu’est-ce qu’être puissant aujourd’hui ?
Je vous livre sans décodeur 🙂 et à chaud 🙂 mes réflexions sous forme d’un tableau à deux entrées.
C’est celui qui a le plus d’argent sur son compte en banque
C’est celui qui a un rôle de président d’un Etat, de didacteur, de chef militaire,
C’est celui qui gère une entreprise, grande ou petite
C’est celui qui est écouté par des millions, des milliers de personnes
C’est celui qui a du charisme
C’est celui qui sait parler sans parfois dire grand chose d’important
C’est celui qui peut décider du sort de centaines, de milliers de personnes, avec cynisme ou ce qui est mieux mais bien plus cruel car il sait que cela peut sauver des milliers d’autres personnes
C’est celui qui est invité à de grands évènements et qui est applaudi par des milliers de personnes
C’est celui qui pense avoir raison sur tout et dénigre l’évidence, si évidence il y a, par intérêt
C’est celui qui se contente de l’argent nécessaire pour vivre bien et faire face aux imprévus
C’est celui qui, par son travail, exécute et réalise des produits respectueux de l’environnement et dont son travail correspond à ses valeurs
C’est celui qui écoute quatre fois plus qu’il ne parle
C’est celui qui ne prend pas la lumière mais est le déclencheur de cette lumière
C’est celui qui se fait comprendre en quelques mots, même en s’exprimant sur des thématiques complexes
C’est celui qui décide que de sa vie, de la vie de sa famille
C’est celui qui ne se montre qu’en de rares occasions, pas pour se faire applaudir mais pour faire passer un message
C’est celui qui sait qu’il faut agir pour le climat, pour trouver des solutions avant les crises n’arrivent
Je pourrai continuer mais j’ai fini de boire mon café 🙂 et je m’étais donné le temps du café pour rédiger cet article : oui, ma tasse de café est grande 🙂
Je ne sais pas si cet article est démago, s’il enfonce des portes ouvertes, s’il n’a aucun intérêt mais c’est une de mes réactions du matin.
Et même, si c’est samedi, que je ne suis sensé travailler, je me dis que cette réflexion peut ouvrir la porte d’une interrogation, oh combien plus vaste, sur ce qu’est le puissant dans une entreprise.

What does it mean to be powerful today?
I write this article in the masculine but of course, the word “powerful” can and must also be understood in the feminine, “powerful”.
This morning, drinking my coffee, I read an article on the summit of Davos in the figaro: link
And a word made me think (yes, yes even while drinking my coffee, I let my cerebral faculties work 🙂 ). I copy the introduction of this article and put in bold the word that challenged me:
“Debates on the “polycrises” that threaten the planet, discreet business and diplomatic meetings, diving into the Swiss station and its annual forum of the powerful of this world.
So that’s the word “powerful”.
What does it mean to be powerful today?
I deliver to you without decoder 🙂 and hot 🙂 my reflections in the form of a table with two entries.
He’s the one with the most money in his bank account.
He is the one who has the role of president of a state, of teacher, of military leader,
He is the one who manages a business, big or small
It’s the one listened to by millions, thousands of people
He’s the one with charisma
He is the one who knows how to speak without sometimes saying much of importance
He is the one who can decide the fate of hundreds, thousands of people, with cynicism or what is better but much more cruel because he knows that it can save thousands of other people
He is the one who is invited to big events and who is applauded by thousands of people
He is the one who thinks he is right about everything and denigrates the evidence, if there is evidence, out of interest
He is the one who is satisfied with the money necessary to live well and face the unexpected
He is the one who, through his work, executes and produces products that respect the environment and whose work corresponds to his values.
He is the one who listens four times more than he speaks
He is the one who does not take the light but is the trigger of this light
He is the one who makes himself understood in a few words, even when speaking on complex topics
He is the one who decides that of his life, of the life of his family
He’s the one who only shows up on rare occasions, not to get applause but to get a message across.
He is the one who knows that we must act for the climate, to find solutions before the crises arrive.
I could go on but I finished drinking my coffee 🙂 and I had given myself coffee time to write this article: yes, my cup of coffee is big 🙂
I do not know if this article is demago, if it advances open doors, if it has no interest but it is one of my reactions of the morning.
And even if it’s Saturday that I’m not supposed to work, I tell myself that this reflection can open the door to a questioning, oh how much broader, about what power is in a company.
